dressing without stressing

Hi guys!

So as you know, my A levels started this week (well I retook a paper so it’s technically AS but still!) and I’ve been trying to keep myself from looking sloppy without putting in loads of effort!

This is my guide to surviving exam periods without having to use ‘homeless chic’ as an excuse for your clothing choices. (I actually shower every morning, but a lot of these options work if you don’t anyways).

1. Dressing up your sweatpants

As tempted as I am to just head out in sweatpants and the ratty old tshirt I wore to bed, I know I’ll be uncomfortable looking so sloppy. One trick I’ve found when I absolutely REFUSE to take off my pajamas is to layer well. Instead of wearing a hoodie with your t-shirt, throw on a nice sweater, which is equally warm, and looks a lot less like you jumped out of bed and walked out the door. This way, you get to keep your pajamas on, and no one will ever know!

You can even add accessories to make yourself look more put together (statement necklaces are a great & effortless way to look like you planned your outfit!)

2. Finding comfortable alternatives

I actually only own 1 pair of sweatpants (pathetic, I know). Although I could wear them like 3 days in a row and insist they’re different when other people ask, it’s a lot easier to switch things up! For example, replacing sweat pants with a pair of culottes! You can still wear a random sweatshirt, but you immediately look more put together, as culottes still look a tad more dressy than your 2 day old sweatpants. This is my favourite trick because I can just lay out my culottes the night before and pull them on after my morning shower, saving lots of time.

Besides culottes, you could also try leather joggers, printed trousers or even a tshirt dress!

This seems similar to the first point, but it isn’t really. The first is more of an emergency ‘this is a bad day i don’t want to get dressed’, while this is a lot more planned. For example, if you know you’re going to be staying up to study and won’t be bothered to choose something nice in the morning, BUT you’re going to have lunch with a friend/see a cute guy or something, this is the tip for you. Plan to wear a dress, or a skirt. Since wearing stockings to bed is highly unadvisable, wear leggings to bed with your pajama top, and in the morning, wear your outfit over it, with the leggings replacing your stockings!

(I am so awkward in photos oh gosh)

Anyways these are just a couple of things I do so that I don’t have to stress about my clothes during exams! I feel very insecure when I’m dressed super sloppy so this helps me a lot! Let me know what tips you guys have for quick yet non-sloppy looking outfits!

Thanks for reading!
