Hey guys, I know it’s kind of been autumn for a bit but I thought I’d share a couple of things I find essential for autumn and have been wearing a lot the last few weeks!

1. Knee High BootsScreen Shot 2015-11-06 at 13.10.30Faith Maserati Black Pull On Knee Heeled BootsMiss KG West Two Leather Over The Knee Boots

I think one of my favourite things about autumn is the fact that it’s socially acceptable to wear knee high boots again. Despite my love for layering, I detest having to wear stockings/tights with my skirts and so I usually just pair them with my knee high boots (hey, it’s a great way to show a little skin right?). Knee high boots also look great over a pair of skinny jeans!

2. Scarves

I think scarves are essential because if nothing else, they make great makeshift blankets when class gets too boring (oops?). I generally wear my scarves with skinny jeans and a leather jacket. Since it’s starting to get colder, my wardrobe tends to transition from bright summery colours to more monochromatic outfits, and so having a coloured scarf is a great way to give just a pop of colour to your outfits. Maroon and khaki are my top colours for autumn so this dark red tassel scarf is just perfect!

3. Khaki/Military Jackets

There’s something about military green that really appeals to me, and it’s a colour that will match clothes you probably already have from spring/summer (or just all black clothes) so it helps make an easy transition into colder weather and having to layer. If you remember my Barcelona post, I had this cute khaki set and the jacket has really come in handy for layering. I mostly throw on a grey hoodie with the khaki jacket over it for a little variation from the usual black and black, and you could always just wear it by itself on warmer days.

4. CapesScreen Shot 2015-11-06 at 13.34.04

Much like big scarves, capes are perfect for slouchy days (like when you have a 9am and can’t believe you’re actually awake before 8.30). They’re comfortable and warm, and can be dressed up or down based on the rest of your outfit. You could throw on a plain top, jeans and sneakers for a chill, slouchy look, or dress the cape up with a pair of heels or heeled boots. This is also great for those days where it’s sweater weather in the morning and scorching hot in the afternoon, because if you carry an unusually large handbag (as most college girls do), you could just stuff it in your bag instead and savour the little bit of warmth left before winter comes.

5. KnitwearScreen Shot 2015-11-06 at 13.41.24

Since it’s getting cold, knitwear is obviously a must-have. Having a few cute jumpers is essential because you’ll never look too sloppy, and with just a little bit of accessorising, you look super put together. A lot of times once it starts getting cold people refrain from wearing skirts or dresses, or just wear really thick tights with everything. I love jumper dresses because you get to stay comfortable and warm, and are a welcome change from wearing trousers or jeans all the time. Jumpers with cute details are always great, and the lace up trend has been so big the past few months, so a lace up sweater is basically the best possible combination you can find!

It’s reading week at uni for me right now and I may possibly be going on a trip, so hopefully I’ll have some actual pictures of me up soon! I’ve also just started on my SkinnyMint Teatox so I’ll be doing a review of that soon, keep your eyes peeled for my next posts!

Let me know what else you guys think are autumn essentials!

Have a great weekend 🙂

Hey there!

Hope everyone’s week has been going well. Halloween weekend is over which means it’s Christmas season!! Maybe I’m a bit too excited, but considering I use a Christmas mug all year round, it’s pretty obvious it’s my favourite holiday!

But anyways, I thought I’d show you guys what I did for the Halloween weekend. I didn’t go to any crazy parties or anything but I did try a couple of outfits out for this boat party I was going to. I couldn’t decide between a devil, a vampire or a witch so I kind of tried them all out.

Devils Horns – Claire’s
Top – Pull and Bear (Out of stock but similar here)

I got really bored so I tried to give myself a bruise with make up and it kind of worked!! I’m absolutely awful at make up so I was pretty proud of myself.

I did try the whole vampire thing out but it didn’t really work because the fake blood made me break out in rashes so this was the look I decided to go with in the end. I was running a bit late so instead of drawing, I used this super cute cobweb face sticker thing! I even got nail art to match it. I also put on a fake septum ring just cos I thought it’d make me look badass (I was considering getting a real one but my parents basically said they’d disown me so I guess not haha).

Nails & face decorations – Claire’s

Septum Ring – Primark

Mesh Romper – Motel Rocks (dress version here)

Make Up – Urban Decay Naked paletteBuxom Menace Lipstick + Eyeko FAT liquid eyeliner (came in my October Birchbox which I will be reviewing soon!)

Over the weekend I also recorded a cover of Adele’s Hello (thinking I wouldn’t be going out at all haha).

How was your halloween weekend? Let me know what you dressed up as!

Thanks for reading!
